Cupronickels are copper-nickel alloys that contain typically from 60 to 90 percent of copper and nickel as the main alloying element. The two main alloys are 9010 and 7030. Other strengthening elements, such as manganese and iron, may be also contained. Cupronickels have excellent resistance to corrosion caused by sea water. Despite its high copper content, cupronickel is silver in colour.

These combinations produce materials with a unique range of properties not found in pure metals. The alloys usage. The alloys of nickel and other metals have been developed for use in jet engines and in industrial gas turbines for electricity generation.
